Russian cybercriminals attack Ukrainian Association in Finland

The Ukrainian Association in Finland (UAF) has reported that scammers have exploited its brand to establish fraudulent pages on the Telegram social network and create a counterfeit website.

“A Telegram channel named UYS Kassa has appeared, falsely presenting itself as the official channel of the Ukrainian Association in Finland (UAF) / Ukrainalaisten Yhdistys Suomessa (UYS), using our logo and other materials from our website and social media,” the UAF wrote.

The Ukrainian community is advising people not to subscribe to the channel, click on any links, send money to any provided accounts, or share personal information.

“The information posted on this channel is false. We also remind you that the use of the UAF logo and brand without permission is prohibited,” the statement said.

The investigation uncovered that the incident is associated with a resource registered in Russia and developed using a Russian platform.

The UAF has also provided a list of the Ukrainian Association in Finland’s official communication channels. More information is available via the provided link.

Last July, scammers created a copy of the English version of the UWC website, where they distributed malicious files under the guise of NATO Summit materials intended for Ukrainian communities worldwide.
